Awarding Organisation Participation with PLR for QCF
The Learning Records Service team has been busy supporting awarding organisations that have signed up to participate in using the Personal Learning Record (PLR) for Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). These awarding organisations will upload QCF qualifications to the PLR through the new system that has been developed for this purpose. This will take place when providers send through QCF qualifications to the respective awarding organisation.
There have been 49 awarding organisations that have to date signed up to participate and these are each at various stages of readiness to begin their uploads. Quite a few other awarding organisations have indicated their willingness to participate or are considering doing so; hence we expect this number (49) to steadily increase over the coming months.
Having verified qualifications online within the PLR will empower learners in that they will have easy access to their qualifications and be able to "take their learning with them", if they move or decide to take up their learning again at a future time.
We at the LRS are very excited about the potential of the PLR for learners and also because of the efficiencies that it can bring to the Sector.
